Healthy Recipe for Nutella

Homemade Healthy Nutella

This homemade healthy recipe for Nutella is a delicious and nutritious alternative to the store-bought version. It’s rich, creamy, and chocolatey, with a hint of natural sweetness from the hazelnuts and honey.

  • Food Processor
  • Baking Sheet
  • Spatula
  • Glass Jar for storage


  • 2 cups of raw hazelnuts
  • 1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup of honey or pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt
  • 2-4 tablespoons of unsweetened almond milk


  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spread the hazelnuts evenly on a baking sheet.
  2. Roast the hazelnuts for 10-12 minutes, or until they’re lightly browned and the skins are slightly blistered.
  3. Let the hazelnuts cool for a few minutes, then transfer them to a kitchen towel and rub vigorously to remove as much of the skins as possible.
  4. Place the skinned hazelnuts into the food processor and process until a hazelnut butter forms.
  5. Add the cocoa powder, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, sea salt, and 2 tablespoons of almond milk to the food processor.
  6. Process until the mixture is smooth and creamy, adding more almond milk if necessary to reach your desired consistency.
  7. Transfer your homemade Nutella to a glass jar and store in the refrigerator. It will stay fresh for up to two weeks. Enjoy this healthy spread on toast, fruit, or straight from the jar!
